This flying unicorn was a fun project. You get to use your imagination, and add what you think is right. There is never a right or wrong in drawing cause everyone is different. But this project was fun and I recommend you try it.

Drawing Challenge

The first drawing challenge! Yay! Ok, so here's what a drawing challenge is: Every once in a while, I will post a picture of something and the post will be titled Drawing Challenge. The challenge is you have to try and draw it! It can be paint, pencils, crayon, pastels, whatever! Just try and recreate this in your own way. Your first drawing challenge is this orchid! Just try and recreate this picture the way you see it, then leave a comment below telling me if you liked this, and what the hardest part was! I can't wait to hear from you!

Look at me!

For some reason, today I felt like drawing eyes. It was hard, but they turned out amazing! I had to look at my friend's eyes to draw it. First I did the outline of just the eye part, then I did that small inside line. After that, I did the outline of the pupil. Then I drew the thick small black circle in the middle of the eye. Then I did the bottom eyelashes. You have to draw those very lightly, and very short. For the top eyelashes, you push not too hard, and not too soft, and long. Then I shaded the rest of the pupil gray, and I made those white highlights by making streaks with my pencil. Then the eyebrow is pretty simple. I did the second drawing first, but I thought if I was going to explain it to you, then I should make a slightly bigger one. So I did! The second one has a bit of a nose, too, and shading. The first one is just for demonstrational purposes. So, if you like to really challenge yourself, you should definitely try this out.

Up-close Rose

I really like this rose painting. I got the inspiration from Georgia O' Keefe's paintings. It was hard, but fun! I first did the light pink outlines, then I did the background. After that I had to do the shading. For the shading, I made each petal dark when it got closer to the actual flower, then fade into light when it gets closer to us. After that, all I had to do was make a second layer on the pink, and there! A beautiful rose!                                                                  -Annika

Flower Explosion!

I drew this at school! All it took was a flair pen and Crayola markers. First I drew the petals without the lines, then I colored it. I made sure that no flowers were next to a flower that had the same color as it. Then, finally, I drew the lines, and that black center just comes with the lines! It's a really relaxing project, and it looks beautiful in the end!

Pencil Drawings

I did both these drawings the same way. They both took two hours each. But, it was still fun! I did the outlines very, very light, just so that I could see where the shape was. Then, after I did the shading, I erased the outlines. The only thing left to do after that was put highlights in. To put the highlights in, I just slightly erased where it should be. You can see an example of a highlight on the top left part of the apple! This is a really good exercise for pencil shading and drawing.

Abstract Guitars

Abstract guitars! It was really fun making this, and easy, too! I used a stencil for the guitars, and then just made the guitars everywhere. I didn't really care if they overlapped. Then I drew the dots and circles. Now comes the fun part! I used colored pencils, and used the color white for anywhere the guitars overlapped. Then, I chose two colors for each guitar. The colors had to be similar (blue and green, red and orange, purple and pink, etc.). Then I just went on, and had fun shading colors into other colors. And last but not least, I gave a red tint to the background. It turned out great! I really recommend trying out this project!

Colorful Sunflowers!

This drawing was done with crayon! The way I made the petal blend in this flower drawing is actually pretty simple. I first made the petals and center. Then, I choose yellow and two other colors for each flower. I color all the petals yellow as a base. Then I take my second color, and color the petal two-thirds, from top to bottom. The second color should be lighter than the third color, otherwise the third color won't show. After I do the second color, I color the top half of the second color with the third color. And there you have it! An abstract sunflower! :-D
